I’ve got some friends that are involved with the Green Party in the area. They might have a contact. I’ll ask 😊👍

If you’re looking for other towns / councils that might have the sort of culture and openness to consider implementing an Orchard Town project, Stroud would be worth reaching out to 😊

You’re welcome. It sounds like a great idea. Are you involved with the creation of the project?

I’ve stopped using ChatGPT for tech planning for dev work. I’ve had too many over enthusiastic claims about what things are capable of that don’t pan out when trying to implement them. Since Claude Sonnet 4.5 I’ve used this for both coding and planning. Much better 👍

We also went sort of scrumping along with a friend neighbour. A house in The village is up for sale and not currently lived in. It has a tree that was absolutely bursting with apples. We came home with about 15Kg of delicious apples, also now prepped and frozen 😉👍

Thanks @joehashman.bsky.social What a great project! That’s got transformative potential for the social and natural eating thinking of a town. 😊👍

Captcha tests are just a mechanism of acquiring free labour. They are Human Reinforcement Learning processes for creating labelling of AI model training data. The “Stop the bots” concept is a masquerade. They have always be to “Feed the bots”.

I think there are parallels with lottery winners. Something happens that has a big affect on their social emotional setting, they have access to power through money. Most navigate the change and live well, but periodically someone goes on a massive bender, ruining their life. It's about access.

Yep 👍 Every culture and society will have its share of people who become deranged, psychotic or obsessed. The outcome of which depends on what the average population has access to. Knives and cars have much less potential to kill than guns. It’s in the design purpose of the artefact.

Good man Joe! It’s taken me a bit over 50 years to get here, and I still manage to intersperse the lovely sensibility with sporadic all night nonsense 🙄

Ah, middle age is upon us in all its glory! I went to bed at 9pm last night. We have been collecting chestnuts in the forest this morning. They are in the oven roasting as I type 😁😋😂

It’s a massive data security risk. As soon as I realised that great swathes of sites were essentially hovering passport and driving licence photos I installed a VPN and became a virtual resident of the Netherlands 🙄

Thank you for making me smile. I feel enthused by the warmth and positivity of your post advert. I’m not the human to join your dept, but whoever is will clearly have a memorable period of work life!
