Yes it’s Valentine’s Day. But it’s also the chosen birthday of Frederick Douglass who was born in 1818 on a plantation in Talbot County, Maryland. He escaped from slavery & rose to become the most eloquent and forceful voice for the abolition of slavery & for Black voting rights in the U.S.

My 2nd painting. I’m teaching myself; I painted over this canvas and painted several different landscapes because practice, practice. When my husband found out I was starting with new paintings. He was surprised and disappointed. 🤣 your stuff is good, don’t paint over it! I felt so validated!

The death of Alex Pretti has been ruled a homicide, the Hennepin County medical examiner’s office said. Pretti was shot Jan. 24 during a chaotic encounter with federal immigration officers in Minneapolis. Jesus Ochoa and Raymundo Gutierrez were named as the two officers who fired at Pretti.
