Music, Luton Town, journalism and getting away with it.
Freddie’s older brother Dan sometimes posted about his love of Farage-era UKIP when he was at Luton. What a delightful pair.
this, from West Ham's Freddie Potts, is the single worst "five famous people you'd invite to dinner" I've ever seen

Dispiriting to see everyone commenting on Davie are either (i) He got Trump, Israel AND trans wrong, the BBC has been hijacked by woke or (ii) He was a Tory shill and that internal BBC report was planted by Reform.
I wish those going feral would see there’s an equally probably wrong polar opposite.

Mad that BBC4 is showing the Mercury on such a time delay. Why? How is this going to revive it? I wonder who it could be? Tsk, etc.

Happy London Film Festival booking day to all who celebrate. May you receive a low booking number in the queue.

A run-up like that followed by a penalty like that will always be Del Boy at the bar comedy gold.

Fancy a long read on one of the most oddly overlooked best-sellers?

Hiya. I've lost a sizeable chunk of work. Commissioning me to write you some words would be very helpful right now - I'll do anything on rock, metal and alternative culture, issues in the world of music, and I write bios too. Find me at emmabwilkes at gmail dot com.

I didn’t see this coming, but this is fabulous news. One of the funniest corners of the PSB canon.
Pet Shop Boys are happy to announce that “Musik” is set to return to Wilton’s Music Hall, London from 14th - 25th October 2025! Tickets are now available at the link below.

Solbakken was Wolves manager when we beat them in the FA Cup when we were non-league in 2012.
Petty sod certainly knows how to bear a grudge.

@skipcollins.bsky.social Hi Skip. A random question - are you the Skip who was previously singer in Hohokam, please? (I’m trying to track that Skip down for a magazine feature.) Sorry if it’s not you!

Minimum wage for a 9-5 full time job (40 hours a week) is, as of today, £25,396 a year for anyone over 21.

Which is why it's amazing to see journalism jobs requiring a degree, job experience, and driving licence advertised at a "competitive salary" of £22,380. tindlenews.co.uk/careers/jour...

I agree with Becky Hill about Jack Whitehall’s snobbery here.
Having him as Brits host is indicative that the music industry has no real qualms about freezing out working-class talent.

My dad recently found some band tees I left behind when I moved out in 1993. He now does the gardening in a Beastie Boys tee that I suspect is worth ££££, but he’s 83 and the image is worth every penny.
I will never part with my bought-at-the-show-in-1997 Radiohead shirt that says "Kicking Screaming Gucci Little Piggy," however.
Just marveled that when I was a '90s kid, I bought a Blur shirt at the mall that said "Beer OK" in the Reebok font. I couldn't wear it to school (see: the logo) and my parents somehow didn't mind their underage daughter purchasing this. (I still have it; it's probably worth a fortune.)

If you get the chance, see Frankie Monroe live. I could wang on about performance art, clowning, the death of the working men’s club.
Really, though, he’s silly. And right now, we need silly.
