It was fun finding the right balance between a silhouette that still matched Mothman's sighting pictures and something that felt more visually unique.
The team did an incredible job in translating the concepts I provided them!
3d + texture artist for Mothman was Eliava Lucio!
References used when designing Mothman showing a variety of types of moths. There are also anatomy references for moths included as well as some real life Mothman sightings. 3d model and textures of Mothman by Eliava Lucio.

Mothman was one of my favorite designs from working with my school's game sim class to help in their creation of their game 'Cryptids!'
I really love how he turned out.
On the upper border reads text that says "Creature design, Mothman" On the lower border it reads "Ellie Amodio, concept art" On the left hand side is the final design for Mothman, which is heavily inspired by the Death's-Head Hawkmoth. Mothman's body is proportioned similar to a human being, standing on two legs. However, his features are incredibly bug-like. He has four sets of arms and big moth wings. His arms and legs have many joints like that of a real moth. His head is that of a moth's and he has very large bulbous eyes. He has a small amount of fluff around his upper body, near his shoulders and neck. His hands are long and sharp, and his arms rest far past his hips, his hands reach as far as his knees. To his right is his initial design sketches, showing his earliest iteration and a more cleaned up and refined version to it's right. Below the sketches are a few color and design explorations. The first, is a simple black and red color scheme, with the wings being fluffy rather than bug-like. It's design is a more typical Mothman appearance. The second design has the vibrant colors of the Cecropia moth. The last design is much fluffier and has pink with light yellow hues, based off of Rosy Maple moths.

It was fun trying to find the right blend between techwear and an outfit that still felt agile and would suit his needs as someone always on the run.
A large reference board made using PureRef. On the left side there is multiple references for over the shoulder bags made for parkour. To its right there is multiple images of shoes for free-running. There are many different tech wear images. Near the tech-wear there is references for a few variations of plate carriers. Below the plate carriers are numerous images of free-runners.

Eden is a graffiti artist and a free-runner surviving in a post-apocalyptic world.
