This stuff is backed by very clear research. It’s safer for drivers. The feeling that it’s more constrained is literally what saves drivers lives by making them slow down and pay attention.

I like the idea but this sounds hard to do well with just tech. It probably needs law too/instead. I would put money on the private key getting extracted within weeks of release, and nobody would share the signed originals anyway because there’s too much (benign) image mutation in typical workflows.

The fun answer is that it’s not far away at all. You could drive there in less than two hours if your car could drive straight up.

Housing discourse is full of people saying they can’t afford kids because they can’t afford a bedroom per kid. But that’s an insane requirement. Most of humanity doesn’t have that. Your grandparents probably didn’t have that.

I spend a lot more time in Somerville and Cambridge than Boston but I can’t help but think that we’re winning. A whole generation is growing up with bikes normalized as transportation.
