zaragüell/saragüell, the linen shorts worn by farmers and people of the countryside in much of Spain, are often a point of argument in historical clothing. What length, how wide the leg, what they can be worn with. Here’s two catalan farmers still wearing (long!) saragüelles along with blusas

The hat, depending on where you’re from, is a gorra llarga or barretina. A long wool bag hat which was found in Catalan speaking regions of the Pyrenees, as well as Aragon and Valencia. The most common colors were red, prune/purple or black

the waistcoat I’m wearing here. It’s based on a double breasted collarless style of armilla. This type waistcoat was found in many places in Spain, most likely modeled after military waistcoats hence the name. This particular one takes inspiration from a museum piece in northern Aragon
