Noreen had her first breakthrough with a biochip last autumn! 🌟 She infected primary lung cells with Aspergillus fumigatus & observed hyphae growing on top of cells and invasively towards the endothelial side. A truly happy moment in her research journey! 🧫✨ #organonchip

Tim had an exciting breakthrough this year! The creation of a Candida albicans infection model using our intestine-on-chip in collaboration with the Leibniz HKI. Merging #OrganOnChip, #Microbiology, and advanced image analysis.

Do read-outs for #organonchip and #2D cell culture differ?

They don't! Why? Because the samples we can take from our organ models are very similar. We can look at the supernatants, at the cells during incubation but also extract the tissue afterward for downstream analysis.

Tim is raising our #intestine-on-chip model to the next level by developing a primary cell-based model, including biochemical as well as electrical sensors to have real-time measurements insight the tissue & adds oxygen gradients for host-microbiota integration. #organonchip
