Everyone can (and will) make up their own mind. I know that the processing time is a factor for many. It's the special issue factor that gets me. No thanks.

Lots of people at my university publish in MDPI journals. I just don't want anything to do with them...

It's the 100s of special issues a year that gets me. Asking (often early career) researchers to be guest editors to solicit papers for the journal. It just seems dodgy to me. I don't want a bar of it.
