Many cultures celebrated a form of Thanksgiving associated with a good hunt or harvest for millennia before what we Americans incorrectly call the First Thanksgiving. The Plymouth Thanksgiving wasn't even the first among the English colonizers. In VA, they started 10 or more years earlier.
