Given how thoroughly they were shut out of classic rock consideration for decades, it's bitterly funny to see an obituary for Billy "Bass" Nelson of Funkadelic on Ultimate Classic Rock:

Founding Parliament-Funkadelic Bassist Billy Bass Dead at 74
In addition to performing on the group's first three groundbreaking albums, he reportedly gave Funkadelic its name.

“Superstition,” the lead single from Stevie Wonder’s Talking Book LP, became his second No.1 single in the US, 10 years after his first chart-topping hit. The funky track’s instantly-recognizable drum beat was conceived by guitar legend Jeff Beck. 🎶🎤

Flashback to a trip to Deep Creek, MD in the dead of winter about 5 yrs ago. I recall it was a Jimi Hendrix weekend and I was enjoying just chillin out by myself that day.

just got around to stopping in to the local comic store… why o’ why didn’t I buy 2 as a kid, one to read, one to put in a sleeve. I still have all mine from back then, including this one-that I’ll never part with…

I got up an hour early today to go into work and get a few things done before the regular day started. When I was driving in I realized that, starting next week we will all be getting up an hour early… I’ll take it for more daylight in the evening. And I don’t want to switch back…ever.

I took this pic last Saturday crossing over the intercoastal waterway. This fire is pretty much out now, 5 days later. No loss of life. A miracle for sure..

My daughter bought me a Box of Rain for my birthday…When I wrote about this song she said it made her cry.

Well, after realizing what this gift was, it made me feel the same way-all in a good way.

The piece I wrote is pinned to my timeline. Check it out, you’ll see what that song means to me.

I’m listening to alot of The Who lately. “Who’s Next” is just loaded. 10/10 album. “Live at Leeds” lives up to its reputation of being the best live rock album BUT I still defer to the Allman Brothers “Live at the Fillmore East” as THE best. I’m working thru “Quadrophenia” next🤘

2024 was not a good year for me and the people I love. I hope 2025 is better for all of us and all my friends. Good health and prosperity to all of you.
