I don't think that most Americans fully appreciate the lasting damage that has been done to the relationship between our two countries. Even when Trump is gone, we will never forget the American threats made to our sovereignty.

In Canada, it was "hey motherfucker, get laid, get fucked!".
Once, during a lunchtime dance that our HS won somehow in a Much Music contest, our Principal (who was probably never at any of the nighttime dances) took the mic from the VJ and told us all how we had let the school down. Ah, the 80's.
