And I get that maybe there are parents who are trying but if that trying doesn't come with listening to your kids, trying to understand them, being empathetic or self reflection then it's a losing battle, because in the end they'll end up having to prioritise their own mental health.

Every story I hear of children becoming estranged from their parents my reaction is "wow, I am glad you got out".
But normally the parents are not self aware, so they don't self reflect & just think other people are to blame. And never see the harm.

Welcome aboard & you are absolutely right, the major parties are beating a dead horse. Trickle down economics, austerity & blaming immigrants doesn't work and just makes things worse.

But Israel & its supporters are okay with that when it's innocent Palestinians. And they have since dwarfed the tragedies made by Hamas, who aren't the bigger evil here, though an evil none-the-less.

If going by the pro-Israel standard it would be, because the attack was a response to IDF's treatment of Palestinians praying & the attempts & plans to take more Palestinian land. Going by a humane standard, targeting the innocent is fucked up.

I had to look him up too, they do seem like they could be brothers and not just down to looks. Sounds like he was an unpleasant person too.

I feel like that should be the default, but I get you, it's a saving grace when there's not much positive to say & something too many fail on.

Also imagine a language with a word for love that is intense, deeply poetic and in English the best word we can find is "love", so something will be translated as "I love you".
But good localisation would replicate that same feeling with English, perhaps with our own use of poetry.

Like imagine a Batman villain parody called "The Rizzler", a dude who weaponises his rizz, the puns & jokes a writer introduces might just not land in a language for a country where "rizz" is not a thing. So it needs to be rewritten for that audience.

Localisation is more than just translation, which is why also using AI for things like dubs or subs are a terrible idea.
There is also a cultural element too. There are choices writers make that don't translate well or can get lost.
