I have found that the older I got, the easier math became. I was marginal in math in EL/MS. Okay in HS. Terrible in College. fast forward 15 years, I was a fucking genius at calc, diff Q, and even a bit of topology.
There is no reason except I got better at learning. Here's hoping for you!

A vacation is great. I always advocate for as much vacation as possible, we take far too few vacation weeks in this country. We need at least one week/season.
Maybe I mis-read your post - that seems to say to me that we should stop querying for a month. For me, that's not a winning strategy.
