Did you know Angel Falls is a man? What else is a man? I'd always imagined the Angel Falls were named after their heavenly appearance, not after the yank who flew over them in a plane. No wonder Hugo Chavez wanted to change it, but they don't have another name!

TGT on Thursday celebrates the 70th Birthday of Whoopi Goldberg. I just love the story of her inspiration to acting being Nichelle Nichols on Star Trek. Sparking not only a phenomenal acting career, but a drive to appear on Star Trek. Discuss why representation matters.

Wednesday's TGT highlights two amazing British women who broke running world records last month. Sarah Webster and Sarah Perry's achievements are both jaw-dropping but slipped largely under the radar. Tell your students about them tomorrow.

Kurt Vonnegut is the subject of Tuesday's TGT. Discuss his experience as a soldier or his satirical novels. But I think it's worth discussing his view that there is joy to be had in walking to the local shop for a single envelope. We are dancing animals born to fart around.

TGT on Monday celebrates the life of Ennio Morricone. Discuss film scores and their importance with your tutees or the incredible fact that one of the greatest directors and greatest film composers of all time went to the same school in Italy.

Was smart of Bolsonaro to get Tim Sherwood sent to prison instead of him, as no one will miss him.

Friday's TGT celebrates Science's most famous daughter Marie Curie. The first woman to win a Nobel Prize, and one of only 5 people to win two. A relatively familiar story, but on this Remembrance Weekend we look at her war work - and her pioneering of medical physics.

Every time I watch that read-through version of This is Me, and you may have guessed I've watched it quite a few times, I am always blown away by how much this piano player is loving his life at that moment. Music can be utterly joyous.

Wednesday's TGT celebrates the 50th birthday of actress and singer Keala Settle. Discuss diversity, representation through her most famous performance of 'This is Me' in The Greatest Showman, or just how cool it would be to have a career in theatre.

On Tuesday's TGT discuss the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun in 1922. Profound impact on Egyptology, but also our perception of buried treasures. Would we still have had Indiana Jones if this tomb had never been discovered?

Have got Monday's TGT ready early. In case I'm lurgy stricken for the rest of the weekend. We'll celebrate Ian Wright's birthday. His story is one of early struggle and determination to succeed. Tell your students his story on Monday.

TGT wraps up the term with the 150th Anniversary of the premiere of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No.1. Now considered a masterpiece, when Tchaikovsky showed it to his first choice pianist, his friend called it worthless! Play it for your students and see what they think.

If you’ve not seen Champions, it’s fabulous. Totally unpatronising look at working with people with learning difficulties. And unlike most similar films, actually casts people with learning difficulties.
