Emal: yes I was there for a few months. I have never seen anything so terrible. *Takes his arm and leads him to his desk*

Now you know the full thrust of the situation. Perhaps... We could do something to help

Vinrin: perhaps.... But not here..... These walls have ears.

Emal: well he was the first Cradassian I met who didn't try to kill me or hural racist insults at me so I figured it was best to keep a friendly demeanor. Also I ... sensed something in him.. beneath the bluster and state loyalty I could get through to him.

He talked a lot about his favorite Cardassian composers. He expressed great interest in the works of the great Bajoran composers and I was happy to help.

Carpenter: sounds like you were friendly to a person who was persecuting you ?

I was the first and only candidate for his secretary and we got on well. I found him to be a reasonable man not without his demons.. well reasonable for a camp official. He liked his drink and he liked talking about art and music.

Carpenter: So what was your first meeting like.

Emal: Warok was slumped over his desk a little out of it. I think he was tipsy but still in full control of his faculties. He looked tired and forlorn almost he was tired of something. Our connection was instant

Emal: of course, I first met him when I was assigned to the Haziak scientific Labor camp. I was and am no scientist but I had a mind for accounting and paperwork something that the camp was in desperate need of. I First met Warok when I was assigned to be his secretary.

My wife and I have been enjoying the hospitality of the Federation though I wish we were in better circumstances.

Carpenter: of course Mr. Emal, could you tell us about the first time you met Dr. Vinrin?

Interviewer: do you approve of the genocide and the destruction brought upon the Bajoran people?

Vinrin: absolutely not, I never had a problem with the occupation itself i just thought central command went about it the wrong way.

Interviewer: so you approve of the occupation?

Vinrin: Of course it's only what people have been doing since the start of history itself it's not that particular to our history. So I do not see the occupation as some great evil.

Interviewer: so you think the Cardassians had more of a right to Bajor's resources than the Bajorans?

Vinrin: of course, it's not a matter of morals it's about simple matters of mathematics. We needed them so we invaded. Simple as that

Vinrin: I did yes.... I helped in the occupation. I gave intelligence to the Cradassian army on where to acquire the best materials.

Interviewer: so you helped central command strip Bajor of its resources.

Vinrin: of course they weren't using them properly.

To where conditions were better than other camps under the occupation. He also worked with Dr. Vinrin to ensure the experimental warp program never achieved its goal. After the occupation he and Vinrin parted ways and he retired to a life of obscurity tending to his shop once more

He quickly struck up a friendship with the doctor who according to his later interviews saw him as a man who was not as loyal to central command as he would appear. With the blind eye and sometimes help of Dr. Vinrin used his position to move prisoners from other to camps to Haziak

In pottery. He was found out and sent to the Haziak labor camp as he was determined to be more gifted than the average Bajoran. He was quickly assigned to be the secretary of the camp's scientific advisor Dr. Warok Vinrin.

I felt a certain level of resentment. I come from an old aristocratic family. He was more obscure. He felt like he always had something to prove. He was not impressed with our results, he ordered faster results which I protested but he ordered all the same.
