Je voudrais, et ce sera le dernier et le plus ardent de mes souhaits, je voudrais que le dernier des rois fût étranglé avec les boyaux du dernier prêtre.

Time we had a Friday pic from my archive.
The 112 metre Domtoren in the centre of #Utrecht. Built between 1321-82 as the west tower of the Cathedral. The nave was destroyed by a tornado in 1674 and since then it has been freestanding. So huge it looks almost fake!

Friends of the Necropolis should get over themselves... literal gatekeeping from a bunch that can't cope with the current gates. This is a great idea and should be welcomed.

A reference in the stucco decorations of the Chapel of St Casimir to the Order of the Ermine. Created in 1464 by Ferdinand I of Naples, the motto was Malo mori quam foedari - I would rather die than be dishonoured.
It seems correct Latin was not a skill of the Lithuanian designer...

As a vague gesture to the day I went to this.

It was very studenty. With some infuriatingky theatrical audience reactions from their friends. Exaggerated laughter (at frankly wierd points) instant screaming standing ovation etc etc.

The 1903 statue of Electra by Juozas Zikaras. She symbolises the arrival of electricity and enlightenment through technological progress and stands on top of the first ever Lithuanian power plant building (now the Energy and Technology Museum) in Vilnius.
