It has similarities to the job system of FFV. You can equip each character with 3 equips, and then master their passive abilities. Then, you can mix and match the abilities to make your own builds. (But unlike FFV, it only takes 4 battles to master an ability)

It takes gameplay elements from Paper Mario, Souls-likes, and Final Fantasy V, and some UI design concepts from Persona 5. But it has an artsyyle more akin to surrealism and art deco, and a story more about personal character journeys and loss. If that sounds interesting, I would try it out.
