The fact that any person or entity can pay $2.7 million for a piece of painted cloth when there is so much pain and want in this world is an indictment of our current worldwide economic systems that sustain this behavior.

There needs to be a maximum limit as to how much wealth one is allowed to accumulate. Extreme wealth grows not due to their own labor and talent, but from the labor and talent of others.

Funny that we are willing to detain US citizens of color and otherwise law-abiding undocumented immigrants with the goal of catching a few criminals, but we are not willing to pass common sense gun controls to help address crime.

What is going unsaid in all of the shutdown discussions is that dems don't trust the GOP to work with them. I think they are correct to require something binding to move forward.

Peaceful protests are not insurrection. If some violence were to happen,this would be criminal but would not constitute an insurrection. Breaking into a government building to prevent the scheduled transfer of power is. Never forget why that protest happened on Jan 6 rather than any other day.

Spot on. The farm subsidies mainly go to corporations. Small family farms get just enough to pay for filing the bankruptcy paperwork.
