It sucks. Even if OpenAI blows up tomorrow, it will take forever until we see a correction. DRAM makers will drag their feet to drop prices to a sustainable level because they fear another DRAM crash. That’s why they refuse to increase production even if they could.

DRAM Output Won’t Increase Despite Rising Memory Prices
The memory market is heading into another difficult stretch, and there’s no clear sign that things will ease anytime soon. DRAM prices have climbed sharply over the past months, yet manufacturers aren...

If we look at the Reuters article that Tom’s Hardware quotes, we can see that it’s the same nonsense between those parties:

“Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have signed letters of intent to supply memory chips for OpenAI's data centers”

What an absolute clown show this whole thing is.

Remember how the NVIDIA CEO backed out of their supposed “$100B deal” between NVIDIA and OpenAI? He was able to do that because they only signed a letter of intent, which isn’t a binding agreement.

VERY excited about this! My only reservation is about the “AAA ear piece chatter” in the trailer. Not sure how to feel about a companion quipping in my ear, telling me to “stay alive out there” (opposed to what?) Feels like a weird shift from the wonderful isolating/lonely nature of the first game.

I like to imagine that we’re catching the demons on their days off, when they decide to have some fun. Because the way they always seem to come back in the sequels, despite the priest’s best efforts and sacrifices, it gives me real “but for me it was Tuesday” vibes.

Smartphones are still a technological marvel, but after almost 20 years, they're closer to appliances than "a supercomputer in your pocket", and I just want my goddamn toaster to work.

To add to that, nobody really knows how legit those posts are:

“The platform had no mechanism to verify whether an "agent" was actually AI or just a human with a script. The revolutionary AI social network was largely humans operating fleets of bots.”

It went viral last week. 😬

“Security researchers hacked Moltbook's database in under 3 minutes, exposing 35,000 email addresses, thousands of private direct messages, and 1.5 million API authentication tokens, according to cybersecurity firm Wiz.”
