A bit personal for me, but here I am, writing for @tvgenderstudies.bsky.social about my experiences as a WoC with a PhD, navigating both the academia and the dating scene.

Spent the last few days hiking by myself on some real remote trails in Scotland where I barely saw any souls. Never once did it cross my mind that I’d run into a bear here. However, my heart skipped a beat every time a solo male hiker crossed paths with me.

Tonight in London, Chang-Ling Huang and I will be having a conversation with Xianzi - a pioneer activist for the Chinese #MeToo movement. Words cannot describe my excitement for sharing a stage with these prominent figures in feminist movements - an absolute honor!

Excited to start the first day of @SOASTaiwan summer school with a workshop on #MeToo  in Taiwan. Natalie Lau and I will make a debut of our paper “Counting on the Courage to Come Forward: How Taiwanese Legislators Frame #MeToo  in the Legal Reform against Sexual Violence.”

What a night outside the Taiwan Legislative Yuan. Thousands of people showed up to protest for a democratic legislative process but also for the autonomy over the island’s identity and fate.

Delighted to see my "A Feminist Critique of Peaceful Assembly" appear in the Oxford Handbook of Peaceful Assembly along with other amazing scholars. I argue that we can learn way more about peaceful assembly by taking a feminist approach.

A bit late on announcing this but absolutely thrilled to see my analysis in @polstudiesassoc.bsky.social on women political leaders resigning at the peak of their career. I talk about the structural barriers women face in a male-dominated institution.

I quite like my design of this poster for Nathan Law's talk in Edinburgh. ☺️ Please help spread the word! 🙏

Nathan Law is an activist + former legislator of Hong Kong who recently sought asylum in the UK. He has been fighting for democracy in HongKong since a student.

Along with Vivi Lin and Hsinyen Lai, I am thrilled to announce Nathan Law's visit to Edinburgh!

A prominent activist, he will deliver: "The Fight for Democracy: Journey of a Political Activist Witnessing the Fall of Hong Kong."
