Council housing was decimated under the Tories locally and it is fantastic to see Wandsworth Labour reversing a 44-year trend.

200 new council homes will make a huge difference to so many families - this is the impact that Labour are making in Wandsworth.

280 Gazans have been killed by Israeli forces since the ceasefire. How much more can the people of Gaza be expected to take?

World leaders cannot turn a blind eye and must push for immediate de-escalation to get the ceasefire back on track.

This latest report from the Covid Inquiry is a damning indictment of the decisions made in Government in the days and weeks leading up to the first lockdown.

Lives were lost needlessly because leaders dithered and delayed. We must learn the lessons.

Covid inquiry live updates: UK did 'too little, too late', leading to thousands more Covid deaths, says inquiry
The inquiry says an earlier lockdown could have saved 23,000 lives in the first wave in England - and lockdown could have been avoided altogether with earlier interventions.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance, a time to remember all those who have been victims of vile hatred and transphobia.

With the recent Supreme Court ruling and concerns over upcoming EHRC advice, now is the time to double down on our support for our trans community.

Today, I joined many at the Battersea Park War Memorial, representing Tooting, to pay our respects on Remembrance Day. It's a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by so many for our freedom. We will remember them.

Patients deserve dignity - not a trolley in a hallway. Years of neglect has left A&Es stretched. To drive up standards, the Government must end corridor care for good.

Proud to chair the @appgemergencycare.bsky.social - our corridor care report is out today.

Recent accidental releases from Wandsworth Prison are deeply concerning. These problems are nothing new - for years, I have been ringing alarm bells.

With both individuals now back behind bars, we need urgent action to improve the prison.

Every Londoner must be able to trust the Met. 26 years after the Macpherson Report, the fact that racism still persists in the Met Police is shameful. We must see change, and fast. Senior leaders must detail how they’ll tackle this head-on.

Congratulations to Zohran Mamdani on his big election win in NYC!

Tooting Town Centre acts as a hub for our community but we have seen a number of shops leave the high street.

That is why I have written to Wandsworth Council and the Department for Business and Trade to request more support for Tooting to help keep our area vibrant and unique.
