I went to the new bookstore in town & saw this. As someone who grew up in Hannibal, loves many of Mark Twain's works, and has taught from Asim's book "The N Word," I was thrilled to find this in the youth section.

Diamond went to daycare for the first time ever today. She was pretty sure she wasn't supposed to stay behind with those people, even though Wade never looked back when Lisa took his leash. She must have gotten the hang of it quickly, because she was smiling in every photo they sent.

Miss Diamond is very, very sick. My vet suspects parvo even though the first test was negative. In all her treatments for everything else, the clinic the rescue uses overlooked vaccinating her.

-She was our first foster, even though we planned to adopt.
-As a foster, we were under scrutiny from the rescue.

Miss Diamond had a rough day. She had to be sedated for her second heartworm shot. She gets her third (& final) shot tomorrow. We assume she will have to be sedated again. 🥺

Regarding Diamond, who is a foster... When I brought her home two months ago, she wouldn't get into the car voluntarily. Now she hops right in. She didn't believe I was just getting my phone.
