Yeah, the "banishment zone" was actually in the AoSMB3 writers' bible, but it was just never directly brought up in the show itself. Kind of surprised this Steam blurb mentions it.

AoSMB3 is set at some unspecified point after the Super Show, where Koopa's supposedly defeated for good and banished.

I don't mind that, that's their prerogative; But if anyone sees them addressing me and me not responding, that's why. It's not because I'm ignoring them.

People are flawed and petty. If you scoff at someone who helps you for not doing enough, in many cases they'll go "okay, fuck you then" and stop helping.

They shouldn't do that. Ideally people should be good no matter how others react, but realistically a lot of people aren't like that.

Admiration isn't a finite resource we have to ration. If someone is more likely to help others due to good PR, then I don't care that they're not 100% selfless or altruistic. I care that they're doing good instead of bad, regardless of their reasons.

I'm okay with handing out cookies for the "bare minimum" if it encourages good behavior.

Get over whether or not people "deserve" praise for doing the right thing, and think about the practicality of encouraging good acts instead of the alternative: doing nothing or actively doing bad.

I feel like it's something the characters themselves might say - "Oh, we're just an alliance of convenience but don't actually care about each other." But it's obvious they have genuine camaraderie between them. It's just that 2 out of the 3 are too emotionally stunted to say so.

Sometimes I think about how Iizuka insisted the Sonic games took place on two worlds (a la Sonic X) for a while during the 2010s, despite consistent in-game evidence to the contrary.
