The one you’ll want to keep:
Wooden tectonic plate puzzle. Made, painted, and packaged by me. Very few available! (Although there also is an option to download the files if you’d like to make your own)

I can’t offer you huge Black Friday markdowns but I have some unique, “where did you get that!?” gifts made locally by me, or other small businesses in my community. Perfect for that geology-enthusiast in your life 👇🏻

How is your relationship with science?
Too often, "it's complicated"

It shouldn't have to be 😉 www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekuB...

Making some new space themed papercuts for a market soon 🌙

Really loving the color-coordinating mount! (And planning to paint the frames too)

You can only pick one:
- Foodie trip to the Archean
or
- Critter spotting in the Cambrian?

Neither? Ok... I have some others too. Check them out > www.luciaperezdiaz.com/category/all...

Take a journey through deep time in 2026!

Pre-order my calendar by October 12th >

Yesterday was fun! (And exhausting)

I ran four children’s workshops at @geolsoc.bsky.social as part of London Open House Festival. We built geological timescales, put together tectonic plate puzzles and talked about how the Earth works and what being a scientist is like.

Thanks for having me!

Ps. If you like my work, check out The Map Cabinet (my humble online shop), where you can find prints and paper goods inspired by Earth and Science (and, on ocassion, even some originals).

Given all of this, you won’t be surprised to find that I run workshops and give lectures on the importance of #SciComm, and how graphics can supercharge knowledge-exchange.

Some are available to watch online. I've linked them in my bio as well.

Sometimes I write for grown-ups, for the @egu.eu Geolog, @geoscientistmag.bsky.social Magazine, or other science-y outlets. If you are curious, head over to the link in my bio to see some recent pieces I've published.

As well as for children's books, I enjoy illustrating science in other ways.

Here are a couple of examples: an educational card game, and a series of posters inspired by holidays through geological time.

Basically, any excuse to doodle ✏️✨😉

Currently I work as a researcher, but also have a side career as an author and illustrator.

I published my first children’s book, How the Earth Works (DK Books), in 2025.
It takes readers on a fascinating journey of discovery into the inner workings of our planet.

My academic background is in geodynamics and structural geology. These days, I’m more of a computational geoscientist (somewhere between a geologist and a programmer).

Basically, I make rocks and code talk to each other (sort of).
