The premise of #MAHA has always retained widespread support but, unfortunately, political agendas seem to prevail.

Be careful this #Halloween!

1️⃣ Yes, observational data still correlate diet soda with obesity and related disease.

Correlation does NOT equal causation

2️⃣ Interventional trials consistently show benefit of diet soda replacing sugary soda for #WeightLoss and #health - meaningful data

I honestly don’t understand how the politicians can just fight about access to health insurance when it seems to me that the U.S. healthcare system’s dysfunction is rooted less in access to insurance and more in how the insurance system itself operates.

Another trial supporting artificial sweeteners over sugary consumption; after weight loss, randomized showing better maintenance with prolonged consumption of S&SEs in a healthy diet is a safe strategy for obesity management.

My simple way of explaining to patients of why exercise is so important metabolic health, including #diabetes, etc, is describing your muscle cells as sugar/fat burning factories.

Building and exercising your muscles is key for metabolic #health

If it tastes better, fine, but if we want to make it healthier, make it a diet.

Can a ‘Cortisol Cocktail’ Help Relieve Stress?
Influencers say a concoction can boost energy and help you relax. Hormone experts (endocrinologists) will tell you that’s not true.
Real adrenal disease causing low cortisol is a very serious condition that requires therapy

phase 2 trial showed 10-13% more #weightloss than diet/exercise alone (placebo) in obesity (no T2 #diabetes) and in those with T2D, 7-11% more weight loss than placebo along with a very good 1.5% reduction in hemoglobin A1c (blood sugar).

Ozempic and blindness, again? On this week's #DocsWhoLift podcast, we welcome back one of our best buds & my former naval medicine roommate who went on to specialize in ophthalmology and vitreoretinal surgery, to discuss the most recent research into GLP-1ra therapy and eye disease.

Influencers scaring people about normal cortisol fluctuation/physiology re #diet/#exercise based upon false premises while endocrinologists, neurosurgeons, urologists and oncology surgeons are working to care for the very serious real disease of pituitary/adrenal glands.

Very high dose #ozempic in obesity with type 2 #diabetes phase 2 trial.
-modest additional sugar-lowering effect, with additional weight loss, at the expense of more side effects and treatment discontinuations.

Vitamin D, Falls and fracture presentation by longtime leading bone hormone researcher & expert Dr. Bess Dawson-Hughes at #AACE2025

💪🏽Too little, and too much, bad for fall risk. Optimal vit D (25-D) levels 20-40 ng/ml). Deficiency bad for balance, replenishment good.

@rfk-junior.bsky.social suggests parents do their own research.
While that generally requires undergraduate degrees and then doctorate programs followed by extensive academic work, here are some basic steps on how to go about that. Good luck.
