Eclecticism. Not random, just tangential. Possibly not here at all. Seeking refuge from that other place.
I think it's the general culture of motonormativity, just taken to extremes. Cyclists in the UK see it pretty much every day, albeit in lesser examples. It's why you often see "probably deserved it" under reports of cyclists hit by cars

Another radicalized by Clarkson and the normalisation of car culture madness

Fair, I just wanted to make sure people understood gritting was the norm in Copenhagen - so you can point to it when you argue with e.g. Cambridge council

Well the point here is that everybody expects the council (Copenhagen) to grit the paths, because they normally do.

What was the tariff for plotting disruption when it was Stop Oil Now? 5 years?

I couldn't find a pic or vid, but here's a story from a couple of weeks ago (in Danish, obv), when the first snow and frost arrived and Copenhagen council wasn't ready for it. Think some people would have liked spikes that day, but not as much as they'd have like the council to have sorted it!
Cyklistforbundet revser kommune efter massestyrt på isglatte veje
Københavns Kommune forudså ikke, at der skulle saltes på vejene, og det sendte cyklister i asfalten.

As a Copenhagen cyclist (pretty much just transport) my theory is the best tools for winter cycling are the bike-lane sized council gritters they run all night when it snows 😁

May Whamaggeddon visit you repeatedly, every day from now until New Year,.

He was unelectable because he quite liked a dodgy mural that was antisemitic, so now we've got the nice electable people who wilmmdeport your family, friends and colleagues refuse benefits to them if they lose work

Jesus, that's appalling.

Anyone with one of those privacy invading Amazon doorbell things deserves it anyway. Good on 'em.

I honestly didn't know McInytre was a Spurs fan until he walked in being an absolute areshole. So much made sense after that, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing him shocked at the end.
