And another author’s copy has just arrived! Check out the story of Captain Artemis’ race against her arch-rival Conrad!

I love receiving external validation— today in the form of a reminder that I was longlisted for a Hugo Award.

Happy 17th birthday to my cat Ayesha. She believes the only legitimate political regime is absolute rule by torties.

She is a tortalitarian.

On Remembrance Day I think of Charles M. Schultz, who was a veteran and, because of this, a pacifist. As a symbol of this, he was absolutely fine with servicepeople making and wearing Peanuts fanart, but the only (semi)military institution he would allow to officially use his characters was NASA.

I was supposed to be at a convention this weekend, but life intervened, and so I am making tiny flower arrangements under glass. #tinyjoys

When I was small I had a copy of National Geographic's Our Universe and read it to bits. I was especially fascinated by the speculation of what life might evolve on other planets, and how humans might also live there. A career as an SF author was clearly on the cards for quite a while.

People often think that Management Studies is a dull and functional discipline.

Continuing the joke of the OP: this one.

Normally, when I take Drogon to a convention, I get stopped a lot by normal people wanting to pet the dragon, have a selfie, ask about him, etc.

However, @worldfantasy2025.bsky.social is in Brighton at Halloween, so no one takes any notice.

Of course women don't like the Cybertruck.

Women only want one thing, and it's one of those weird gull-wing cars from UFO. I don't think they ever had a name but just look at them.
