A gray haired nerd in Ohio, after way too many other States.

Putting the garden to bed for the cold, hoping that I get more done next season.
Admittedly this was before my time, but I find it amusing that I only immediately recognize 4 of the huge stars listed. It reminds me of the rallies with Kid Rock and Ted Nugent.

My favorite part of the documentary "Julia" was learning that Julia Child loved that skit. She had a video tape copy that she would show to house guests.

Very noble.

Remember the scene in "The 10 Commandments" where Pharaoh says "Let his name be stricken from every record, removed from every monument"?

That, after he is sent to die lonely in prison.

Now, pronounce that in Pauly Shore’s voice.

The comments here are just the perfect Star Trek thread.

I watched that a few months ago and was figuratively speechless. "But, but, but . . . we KNEW!"

Bow and grovel before our supreme toilet plungers!

I'm having flashbacks of the "Sledgehammer" video.

Also getting hungry.

Does she torture people to death before or after passing around her 15 year old daughter?

I think someone may have been running from the mob.

If you don't count toast, I'm not sure I cook 3 times a week. Leftovers rule!

You mean Commander Hitachi Wand Data?

Because it isn't one man. He is propped up by dozens of court jesters and endured by hundreds of legislators.

I am awaiting all the videos of cars piling up because they underestimate Tule fog.

I completely missed that one, being fully distracted by the SHREDDED turkey.

That looks like what I just separated out after simmering the bones for broth.

We didn't run out, but another pound would have eased my anxiety a bit.

I had to do an image search. I guess it is useful if you entertain a lot, but don't see why it can't just sit on the counter when needed.

But then, I'm beer and burgers, not champagne and escargot.

Understand (when receiving or giving) that this comes in degrees and shades. I had this caring, but in a context (Navy family, Viet Nam war) where much was diverted to cares I was not aware of at the time.

That does not retro-change how things felt, but I eventually understood.

The flip-side or companion to this are the things that (silently) require a network connection to work.

They show up during the power failures when my completely in-house things get edgy with me -- "and just how would I do that?"

Threat has been de-threated.

On one hand, this looks extremely cool. On the other, those tubes look WAY too vulnerable.
