I've got a book coming out in April (available for preorder) on the civilizing mission of France in post-WWII Germany and its links to the emergence of European unity. Check it out!

Actual rubrics for assignments so I can grade AI work down on the merits rather than playing detective. Also considering having essays turned in in Google docs so I can see the version history. Could be useful for getting them to think of their work as an ongoing portfolio, especially in capstone...

My challenge is upper-level seminars, they are mostly gen ed students. In the past I've had them do two essays, a presentation, and weekly writing. I'm thinking one essay, scaffolded and broken down into steps, exams (gasp) and in-class writing, plus the presentation which still largely works well.

discussion posts with in-class writing. Considering having them write in a physical journal - thoughts/questions, comments on readings, and answers to questions I ask in class. I'd like to work in meta-reflection and collect it every week early on then less often to save on grading labor?
