Hades Anastos & Cayenne Djt-Dvre on Coeurl
I love how many of the B-roll moments evoked moments from the movie - people in the crowds singing/dancing along, the fireworks... I also love that the singers outfits mirrored their character's hair and fashion, that was clever to represent who was who without being outright cosplay.

And I guess my point in saying that i have a personal grudge is that my own experiences completely sullied the good things Disney did in the past. I used to adore them and their films, but now even films I loved as a kid have kind of a bad aftertaste.

Yeah... for those of us in Canada I think there's a lot of reverse resentment that the 'fun' jobs like Art direction, design and boarding are frequently LA client-side jobs, so it'd be nice if we could all make cool shit without begging Immortan Big Studios for water.

oh good point.

I think I was thinking about it in terms of like, it really felt like the showrunners were projecting a Gen X 80s childhood white boy fantasy and didn't consider other (better) angles.

My grudge against the mouse is personal, and very simple: they do not pay their outsource animators a fraction of what the work is worth for the level of quality they demand. They could do another Beauty and the Beast quality film and I would only wonder 'did they pay their staff what this is worth'

Stranger Things just isn’t the right vehicle for a cute coming of age romance. It’s trying to do too much genre pastiche instead of staying in its lane.

They just don’t have chemistry, especially in S3 when Mike starts being a little shitbird towards her

As an avowed hater… yes

Ime they can just go “wow I wasn’t even born yet” when I talk about stuff I think happened ten years ago and I age like Tim Allen in the Santa Clause and fall over dead
