I did this in Scapa Flow too - having never been diving and not knowing what a dry suit was. But as a consequence I
ended up snorkelling in November on Islay, and there were seals in the water who played with us. It was beautiful and magical. Go there next. Getting older brings good things.

Sorting out my dad’s house today - he died recently, age 93 - I found this copy of the Telegraph, 4 September 1939. Seemed pertinent today as we face fascism again. (He cancelled his subscription during Brexit: said the coverage was full of lies & bigotry.)
