I also appreciate your post calling for a wider diversity of people to put themselves forward for magistrate service.

Thank you for the information.

Both interesting and deeply shocking.

Staggered to read that magistrates only work a few days a year. I’d assumed those I’ve seen looked older from yrs of experience, not cause they’re unpaid😱

If we get monkeys if paying peanuts… what do we get by way of a legal system with inexperienced unpaid -interns, in effect

Genuinely shocked.

The school he went to doesn’t seem to have covered itself in glory either in *not* expelling him. I encountered more than my fair share of public schoolboys, back in the day, but nothing like this.

Don’t get me wrong - I want the focus on Farage here, but what the heck, viz Dulwich.

Looks quite … festive 😬

It’s also the loss of everything in the towns & cities that depend on universities.

Incredibly bad financial policy to let these go - even for those not bothered by the other considerations…

As a country we have lost our way.

The smug faces of Cameron & Clegg are forever the image of this loss.

Got it at Daunt.

Thank you for a fascinating thread on this.

Always interested to read about changing cityscapes - and with a book recommendation as well!

Will keep trying to find a (not first edition) copy… 😬

Fascinating!

I have vague memories of Manchester - haven’t seen it since the regeneration of the last decades

It was a bit too far off to visit often - perhaps once in 3 years. Leeds was the Bright Lights, Big City with a university bookshop, for us, bi-annually.

Hard to imagine Manc now!

I’m generally interested in your soc med posts: this 👇🏻 isn’t personal

But in terms of the Xmas tree - I’m not sure this is a good use of 1200 trees that could have been left to grow 😕 Plus the energy to move and construct all this.

This kind of thing has to change 🌍 ❤️

This means so much 🤗

It’s such a dreadful disease.

So evil that people have been scared off basic vaccinations.
