Three things to STOP worrying about:

1. Room-sharing for a weekend (you'll survive)
2. Missing a few naps (earlier bedtime, move on)
3. The "wrong" sleep environment (kids adapt)

Your child's sleep skills won't evaporate from one weekend trip.

"Time zones are going to destroy us"
→ For short trips: stay on home time if possible
→ For long trips: 1 day of adjustment per 1 hour of time zone change

"Disney chaos?"
→ Commit to ONE nap daily. Don't close the park every night. Bring blackout curtains.

The #1 thing everyone gets wrong:

You're trying to maintain the TIMING when you should maintain the ROUTINE.

Bath-book-bed at Grandma's house. Even if it happens at 9pm instead of 7:30pm.

The sequence creates the sleep cue. The timing is negotiable for a few days.

One of my favorite Thanksgivings was when we were visiting my brother while he was studying abroad in Rome. His housemates wanted to celebrate with us and just made us some delicious lasagna. Glad to see it made the list.

Obviously, science is never that simple. But the authors of this editorial postulate that development of the hippocampus (a brain center associated with memory) may be associated with nap transitions
