That's absolutely true. There's a step in that direction that is a median household income of $136k before you get to a median individual income of $100k though, and the difference is not a fundamental problem with these calculations. The latter just suggests these are too conservative.

1) should a basic metric of economic stability be that people do not have to piece together childcare ?
2) do you think calculations of poverty should reflect the costs of those basic economically stable conditions?
