I’m fascinated by how cis women are disbelieved in so many areas of healthcare, but GPs will literally throw hormones our way - similarly with the pill as a lazy way to treat gynaecological issues without investigation. Just shows how medical sexism faced by trans and cis women are intertwined!

This is so important to highlight. I thought about this when I was offered HRT aged 39 without even asking for it! Went to the GP with a few symptoms including tiredness and it was immediately offered to me as an option.

Given that New Labour only ever really acted on LGBTQ rights after losing court cases and being forced to, I’d say this is very likely

The rights of trans people in the UK - that anti-trans actors are trying to upend - only exist because the EU and European Court of Human Rights demanded them in the 90s and 00s. With Brexit these rights and many others for women and sexual minorities are under threat - we all need to fight back
