I am going to take some time to process this. As someone who spent his life in health care, I realize I neglected the opportunity to partner with libraries and probably a lot of other resources. This is a whammy.

At the art show, I bought a polaroid that she took of Thurston Moore at Jack Kerouac's gravestone, a photo in a small wooden frame that she signed and decorated and that I still have.

Ah! I saw her in Boston several times when I lived there-- 1993-1996. She and Lenny did a solo show in a church. I met her in an art gallery in Boylston (I recollect), Kris and I biked out there and Kris got her bike tires caught in the T rails on the way. And we saw her open for Dylan.

I remember in one of the Robert Johnson books reading about how he must have picked up the song about tamales in Texas without doing any research at all on how prevalent tamales are in the delta.
