Such a relief that he is steadfast and sensible on this. That was a good response to the bullshit question.

Yes, absolutely! I am going to ask every Irish person I meet from now on...

Ahhh, interesting! Possibly! But I might also be wrong about the Irish pronunciation. The Dubliners used /kiː/ in their cover of the song, and there is this too: youglish.com/pronounce/qu...

So it's only Oscar Wilde and the Pogues so far!

Well, Oscar Wilde is with you, even if I am not!

You are going to be very unhappy to find out how we pronounce "cinque" in the case of the (five) historic "cinque ports" of Kent...

I enjoyed this! It's absolutely my favourite Potter. The mices' behaviour is just WILD, even by modern standards, and the sweeping and paying for it afterwards just seems like an afterthought to placate parents to me!

Miserable. I cannot understand how so many people are blind to this.

Ha ha! The difference there is that women actually *did* fight for the right to vote. "Women" was already a perfectly ordinary word in general usage when the suffragetts were using it, and no one had to fight for it!

Congratulations! And yes, the idea that "people" and "women" are mutually exclusive categories is the most ridiculous nonsense and the idea that anything thinks it passes for feminism is bizarre.

No one who thinks that it is offensive to think of women as people needs to be taken seriously.
June 23, 2025 at 9:55 AM
Women have not "fought hard" to be labelled as women! Other people have labelled me as a woman ever since I hit adulthood. It's not exactly been a struggle! When I was pregnant, I was a pregnant woman AND I was a pregnant person. Because women are people!

A woman with CAIS is not "on a pathway" to producing large gametes- she will have testes, not ovaries.

I emailed Juliet Campbell (Lab) and she did not reply. She's known for ignoring emails, so this isn't a surprise. I'm going to try posting letters instead.
