Was a real pleasure having Aaron & Francis from Golden Gloves VR visit Abertay University with ourselves and colleagues in SDI about virtual reality and potential research investigating the physiological responses within gaming & improving immersion in the VR space.

Converting my data analysis app from python, to react and react native has been more challenging than I anticipated. Back end is working now, so training sessions can be loaded, curve fitting applied, metabolism assessed using raw data, and our bespoke HR and SmO2 linear methods built in now.

Just a normal Sunday, preparing athlete training programs for the week ahead, along with nutritional plans, and running linear regression on muscle oxygen desaturation for new research paper. Busy month, couple of athletes have big title fights, and others prepping for athletic comps in December.

#AcademicSky Intro: post doc researcher looking at muscle oxygen kinetics within sport ( with NIRS). I also work personally with a range of athletes competing in a variety of sports from boxing to football (soccer). My work is really more influenced by applied physiology than theoretical.

Good day over at St Johnstone FC capturing bike sprint data, 30 metre runs and change of directions sprints. Aim it look at muscle oxygen kinetics, and performance over repeated sprints, with NIRS and GPS.
