"Should I switch to Linux?"

No.

Probably not.

Look, as insufferable as Windows 11 is, you're already used to the workflows there.

"Should I...?" is not the question you should be asking.

"Do I want to...?" is the question you should be asking.

And the answer needs to be an enthusiastic or […]

You can also derive these values by rounding the cube root of 10 (2.15) and the cube root squared of 10 (4.64) to the nearest integers.

That technique of taking the n-th root of an interval and then raising it to powers less than n is how you build a set of preferred numbers over the interval […]

For some additional context: the 2-5-10 series of preferred numbers is neat because it roughly equally divides the decade logarithmically into thirds using integer values. Log10(2) ≈ 0.30 which is very close to 0.3333... and log10(5) ≈ 0.70 which is very close to 0.6666...

honestly BEGGING people to be upset at Micron and not just "AI"

because frankly as much as I get being upset at AI, you're basically saying "aw poor micron doesn't have a choice but to go all in on AI"

if instead people went "Micron you treacherous motherfuckers" and their PR […]

No matter how many times I set Windows 10 to use dark mode somehow after a few reboots it sets back to using light mode and this has irritated me for multiple years on end.

This is a piece of software that I PAID FOR. Why does it STILL have this irritating fucking bug after years of existing. >:(

I need to send out more e-hugs.

That's really all I can do when my friends are struggling.

I can't do or say much else beyond that most of the time, but even the tiniest of acknowledgements that someone out there is listening seems to help a lot...

If you’re ever in the dumps or feeling stuck in a rut

You simply haven’t had the fun of watching number go up

You know it’s wonderful stuff – let the hundreds runneth over your cup

It’s such a buzz to watch the number go up

You must be pretty dumb for thinking some is enough […]

so like, regarding the Micron news:

not to 'excuse AI' or whatever, but i do think it's frustrating that people blame the abstract concept of 'AI' when clearly this is a profit oriented management decision by Micron (and also Samsung), which now get to use the excuse 'but AI' […]

A friend brought up an interesting point about how 'installing things on linux is hard', which I agree with.. if you're very Windows minded.

There's a deep, ancient difference between Windows, Mac and Linux that people rarely seem to name, which also […]

Think I've figured out why I've been feeling like shit for the past week or two even when I get plenty of sleep the night before.

Two dragonden-related things I need to get around to doing:
1. Swap the current platform for a slightly newer platform with a Ryzen 5600G at the heart of it
2. Finally install Linux on a SSD that I bought for it

Number one will free up the current mobo and Ryzen 3600 for the Friends & Family […]

Minesweeper but playable on a keyboard:
- IJKL for cursor movement
- S to "Step" on a tile
- F to "Flag" a tile
- F+S to test all unflagged tiles around the highlighted tile

Alternatively:
- WASD for cursor movement
- Q and E for "Step" and "Flag" respectively

Helicopters get memed on so hard but a helo built for it and a pilot skilled in its handling can pull off maneuvers an airplane can only dream of being able to do.

Helicopters fill a vital aviation niche.

I think it would be pretty cool to be type rated for helicopters.
