Depends on the mood. More often cupcakes for the sweets, but there are times when a good muffin - with that extra bit of density - really hits the spot. Sweet cornbread muffins, mmmmmmm...

Without a doubt, My Neighbor Totoro. It is the perfect blend of childhood nostalgia, amazing music, beautiful mundane fantasy, wonderful art style, and Catbus is amazing.

Love the character work, too, and the children are truly amazing characters.

Influencing is what dragons do.

And collecting.

And influencing our collections.

Never mind that the collections tend to be people. That's just a minor detail.

Yep, me and Ember were talking ideas, and this one came up. We've got another, slightly sillier idea cooking, too.

I was half-right. They spell it thneed, meaning, "A-fine-something-that-all-people need."

It does have a Carroll-esque sound, but didn't the Onceler sell sneeds?

Something Seuss-ian.

Fair, but let me ask you something to refine that.

What is the difference between a synth and a robot?

A synth and a cyborg?

A synth and an AI that flits between different shells?

What is the core of a synth for you? What makes it a synth compared to those three things?

So, with that in mind, let's open up an interesting conversation.

What is the essence of your 'sonas's species. What makes your species that species? What is the one thing that you can't take away if you want it to still feel like that species?

Aside from that, they could have huge variations between the elves in a world, differing based on location, type of nature around them, climate, gods, etc., but they'd all share that baseline difference, because that is kind of what makes an elf an elf.

For me, that essence is a twisted relationship with time. Fast or slow, they have a marked, massive different relationship with time compared to humans, and it affects their culture and personalities in a huge way, shifting how they build, live, love, and more.

It isn't 'How do you write (x)', to me. It's 'What is the essence of (x)', instead.

Like, for elves. Whether they're fae elves, nature elves, modern-fantasy tricksy elves, or something else entirely, they're still elves, so, what makes them elves rather than pointy-eared humans?

A much more calm and civilized orc, but yes, there's that sort of powerful warrior type but also kinda 'natural' thing to him, deep familial links, and other things that have some orc-ness to them.

Green parts also help, heh.
