Green Day - American Idiot

Formative. One of the first albums I ever listened to on my own. Opened my eyes to so much. S/O to Boulevard of Broken Dreams for being my anthem for two decades straight (and gay lmao)

Nightwish - Endless Forms Most Beautiful

There are better Nightwish albums. Some have had more impact on me, even. But the Finnish band's first outing with Floor Jansen keeps me coming back, and makes for an excellent starting point to get into them with.

The Amity Affliction - Let The Ocean Take Me

2014 rears its head once again. Dark, depressive, uplifting. Worth the heavy listen so long as you're prepared going in.

Ben Berkenbosch - Lost

Amazing to write to. Discovered this while searching for writing music on Youtube a week or two ago, found a playlist featuring this album, bought it off Bandcamp. Bit of an odd inclusion that way but it's had a huge impact on me already.

Against Me! - Transgender Dysphoria Blues

I'd be remiss if I left out my transgender awakening album. At 21, this helped with absolutely everything to do with coming out as trans. Gave us the courage to take the very first steps.

Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns

Have to go with this one first; released when we were 17 and volunteering cross-country, came to define that period of shellshock and emerging from a sheltered life to the real world for the very first time
