I just sneak up at night, build wood walls (fastest to build) at the cave exit, forbid the doors and steal their food when they sleep.
You could try a single, non-hostile survivor of a destroyed hive, with inspired taming, but save before trying.

I haven’t tried since the last update, so things might have changed, but even one wandering harmlessly, after a raid destroyed the hive, attacked immediately when a colonist interacted with it. Even with inspired taming.

You can't tame them, I tried so many times. I got lucky ones and one self tamed, the only way without the mod.
Mega sloth are also great, I'd say 3. place behind Trumbos (can be tamed) and the mega spiders.
I wall up the nests and sneak in at night to steal the insect jelly.

My cheat for fights, have the mod “prepare carefully” get one or two Megaspiders as pets. They tank everything and haul as a bonus. Make sure at least one of your colonists has a high enough handling skill.

Haare färben. Letztes Mal hatte ich als Hauptfarbe Orange genommen, war doch etwas sehr knallig.
Jetzt ist es etwas rausgewaschen und ich will mit Rosa drüber, schau mer mal wie das wird.
