If you’re looking for a fun, antifascist sci-fi multispecies buddy comedy book series (with a very good audiobook version), I highly recommend Dungeon Crawler Carl.

I’m on Book 3 and it’s been a blast from start to finish.

Amid growing calls for the abolition of ICE, Rep. Delia Ramirez is calling for the entire DHS to be dismantled. Highlighting how much experience the officers who killed Renee Good and Alex Pretti had, Ramirez said, “DHS was built to violate our rights and has been empowered to act with impunity.”
House Democrat Says Abolishing ICE Isn’t Enough — DHS Must Go, Too
“The problem isn’t ‘training.’ DHS was built to violate our rights,” said Rep. Delia C. Ramirez.

One big lesson in writing this article: In states where filing deadlines have already passed, many offices are uncontested.

In NC, 28 of 39 prosecutor races only have one candidate.
In AR, it's 20 of 28.

But: Deadlines are still in the future in most places. Hence it's Important to look now.
NEW: There are 2,400+ elections for DA & sheriff this year.

These matter hugely to criminal justice & policing—including: *these are often officials who decide ICE collaboration.*

So I took a dive into these 2,400+ races to identify early hotspots and battlegrounds.

Read, & check out our maps:
In Criminal Justice Elections This Year, ICE Contracts Are on the Hot Seat - Bolts
With roughly 2,400 elections for prosecutor and sheriff this year, Bolts reviews the map and early hotspots that will shape criminal punishment and law enforcement practices.

If every Democrat voted NO on funding ICE, it would not have passed the House. But, 7 House Democrats voted to fund Trump's lawless, masked goons, so it passed.

Hakeem Jeffries refused to whip his members to vote against ICE funding. Genuinely unforgivable.
NEW: DHS appropriations bill funding ICE passes 220-207

7 Democrats voted YES on the bill:
- Jared Golden
- Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
- Henry Cuellar
- Tom Suozzi
- Laura Gillen
- Don Davis
- Vicente Gonzalez

One Republican voted NO: Thomas Massie

DHS is a terror force. A weapon to be pointed at those the authoritarians in office would make a public enemy.

TODAY, we must vote against any additional funding. But that is not enough.

TOMORROW, we must go further:

In April, I hand-delivered a letter of resignation to Kristi Noem.

In December, I took the first step towards Noem’s impeachment.

I will continue organizing like heaven and hell to ensure Kristi Noem is impeached and held accountable.

It was not "domestic terrorism.” It was state sanctioned violence.

A family will forever live with the pain caused by the admin's reckless and deadly actions.

Abolishing ICE is not enough. They must be held accountable.

I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, who is an incompetent leader and a disgrace to our democracy.

She wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area and has brought her reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot and killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.

Prosecute the former regime at every level.

ICE's murder of a young mom should be the final nail in this wicked gestapo's coffin. Disband ICE, investigate all agents.

Also: impeach & prosecute Trump—both for the cavalcade of illegal presidential actions, as well as the fact that he's a pedophile.
The “prosecute the former regime at every level” candidate has my vote in 2028.

Would love to know what information in a briefing could make this warmongering ok and make calling for impeachment of every official involved not needed.
The Trump Admin MUST provide briefings for all Members of Congress as soon as possible this week.

It's disgusting that the Dem opposition is mostly just whining about not being properly informed about these immoral and illegal attacks. Instead of calling for impeachment, they just want to be briefed since apparently they are more mad about being "lied to" than the actual atrocity happening.
Just an absolutely pathetic response from absolutely pathetic people. I was not a fan of Pelosi but even she would be better than the current crew.

Utah also thought Mitt Romney and Trump would be good presidents so hopefully this will be another reason for the end of Shapiro's presidential ambitions.
