Second, tax regressivity is not all that matters in terms of justice, since a carbon tax can be progressive and still push people further into poverty.

First, arguing that the atmosphere is owned in common by humanity is too narrow a perspective because it does not take socio-economic inequalities into account.

In an article just published in the Journal of Applied Philosophy, I address the following question: how should the proceeds from carbon pricing be used? I try to suggest a new argument for carbon dividends or recycling carbon revenues back to the citizens. I make three main claims.

COP30 has just ended in Belém and climate justice was once more a central issue in international negotiations. But just transition is also a crucial challenge at the national or regional level, notably for countries that have put a price on carbon.

Difficile de contester qu'il existe un problème avec l'extrême richesse, avec des ultrariches qui se détachent nettement du reste de la distribution, et qui paient proportionnellement *moins d'impôts* que le reste de la population ! cf. @osonscauser.bsky.social
