I still hold skepticism about statewide races, particularly in Florida…. But there are gonna be some house races and state legislature races that are really gonna surprise and have strong Latino vote snap-back towards Dems!

Okay this might be unpopular on this site but despite Fetterman’s brain being cooked, he is clearly a loyal Democrat on key economic/ labor/civil & voting rights issues (he’s just lost the plot w/ immigration & foreign policy). I’m still voting against him in PA primary, but he’s not a Republican!

Title II & III likely wouldn’t survive Byrd rule as they focus on immigrant healthcare, gender transition and abortion care— issues not directly germane to budget. Title I sec 104 on catastrophic plans also likely wouldn’t survive Byrd. Really only the HSAs linked to Bronze plans could meet Byrd!

To clarify, would “screwing up in the Michigan Primary” be defined as choosing El-Sayed?
December 10, 2025 at 7:44 PM
Statewide, it’s not in play… but some of these gerrymandered house seats could end up being dummymandered? Wouldn’t be surprised if FL 2026 is like NY 2022!

And Xavier Suarez became a Republican (or at least is a Republican leaning independent)! Eileen Higgins winning like she did in Miami is actually quite a big deal!

Yeah I honestly think that unless Eagles pull out a miracle and get to the Super Bowl, Patullo AND Sirianni need to be fired! It’s tough saying this about a SB winning coach but I think Sirianni has been a net negative and probably kept this team and the 2023 team from meeting its potential!

I get that they had a broad coalition because of the collapse of the Tories… but Labour really seems to have lost the plot!
December 8, 2025 at 5:21 PM
Better question is did he vote for Obama, Hillary or Biden before? More concerning from Dem perspective if he voted for Biden before. But if he has always voted GOP or last voted for Dems in 2016, that voter was probably always harder to get tbh!

I’m genuinely curious how Cubans, Venezuelans & Colombians will respond, especially with all this “War on Narco-Terror” guff and Rubio as SOS. Really curious how the Miami Mayor race shakes out cause that could really unmask whether even the GOP’s “Latino Base Groups” are starting to fray!
December 7, 2025 at 3:40 PM
I wouldn’t be surprised if Cuellar straight up lied to Trump lol! In many ways Cuellar is the last true Dixiecrat, born out of the old Tejano Dixiecrat tradition that’s been down there since the New Deal Era! IE Corruption & Machine is Key, but so is loyalty to Dem Party lol!
December 7, 2025 at 3:36 PM
I imagine the answer is yes based on polling/ recent results in NJ, but do you believe Latino voters broadly are feeling uniquely targeted? Or is it more specific groups like Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Central Americans, Venezuelans, Cubanos? My experience w/ patients makes me feel it’s broad based!

Hard to believe he’s been gone so long! I feel like it was yesterday you were talking about visiting him and your mom before the pandemic!

Look Mamdani is a Socialist but he isn’t stupid! His political instincts are much more like AOC than Rashida Tlaib!
December 5, 2025 at 11:49 PM
I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if the RGV “Fajita Strips” snap back hard to margins more like 2020 Biden (not the old historical margins but still good) and put into play GOP seats like TX-15 and even TX-23. Still terrible they’re cracking out Doggett and Green and TX-32!
December 5, 2025 at 2:30 AM
Williamson has a lot more wealthy suburbanites that are more prone to flip. Let’s see if that is the offset for Behn we are looking for!
December 3, 2025 at 1:41 AM
I’d still say the likeliest outcome is Epps less than 5… but the results so far show EXACTLY why the GOP was freaking out about this race! This damn near catastrophic for the GOP!
December 3, 2025 at 1:22 AM
Even if Eday cuts those margins in half, turnout ratios between these precincts and the Nashville precincts will be key!
December 3, 2025 at 1:10 AM
It’s not just margin, it’s turnout. I’m hoping that’s low turnout relative to college precincts and the winemom precincts!

FYI all this incredible info has been aggregated by Bolts & @taniel.bsky.social! Truly does God’s Work for Informing Political Junkies!
are you all about Tennessee tonight?

here are three other elections you should keep an eye on:

1️⃣ a flip opportunity for Dems in Georgia:
Here's one office Dems could flip on Tuesday.

(No, it's not in TN!)

The Republican mayor of Roswell, a Georgia city of 90K, finished just one percentage point ahead of his Dem challenger on November 4. The runoff is in a few days.

One of my Dec elections to watch: boltsmag.org/whats-on-the...
