The discourse is very engine focused cuz ppl have trouble distinguishing engine from environment. That its corporate gamedevs fault not the engine.
But pushers of that discourse dont acknowledge the titles that run fine on ue5 so its easy to see its rage bait. Optimize and you'll find an audience

When i had to take some time away from ue5, I convinced myself I hadn't retained anything and started new tutorials from different teachers.
It was very reaffirming to realize how much I retained.
Projects help cement retention as well. Even small ones like material and post process experiments

It's probably an exercise in establishing a workflow to release their next game on unreal engine.
They can get their feet wet with an established property they know will at least not be in the red and prepare for a faster iteration on a next project.
