I’ve told all my friends that if I ever hear them refer to my cancer as a “journey” or a “battle,” that I will haunt them after I’m gone.

Spot on! Perhaps people need to think about how they'd feel if somebody referred to their illness or heart attack or amputation or death of a child as their 'journey'.

Yes agreed. The Journey thing gets me as bad as the fight, battle, warrior crap. I guess just poor choice of words?
Maybe people do not understand and think about the true meaning of what they are saying?
