She was airing her grievances with members of the party, in public who supported the vote to end the shutdown.

The Democratic Party of the late 20th and into the 21st century has neglected, forgotten, disregarded who it is thats actually defined the purpose - with clear policies of the Democratic Party. That’s FDR. Without his strong pragmatic progressivism that wouldn’t be a democratic party. Wake up Dems

I don’t know, in fact, I don’t think I agree that’s what Senator Kaine actually said. He is a much more diplomatic and un antagonistic person than what’s revealed in the above post.

I get that you’re building up your foreign policy cred as governor, and as a possible 2028 presidential candidate, one step at a time – with Brazil and Nigeria on environmental issues etc.
That’s all fighting good. But please do not lose focus on what’s going on here in our country.

Yes, I think that’s very true for one reason. That they don’t have access for whatever reason to anything BUT Fox, and/or their affiliated right wing conservative radio stations – that repeat programming during a 24 hour cycle.

Having Campbell’s soup for dinner – right now for me – is a luxury. Because my SNAP allotment has been reduced by almost $140 since Trump became president. My DPSS started cutting funds in anticipation of across-the-board cuts and benefits.

Not related to Comic Con - just had to say: As you know being an actor on a 1/2 hr is the job an actor can have - I think. To be an actor that has for years-been at the top of their game - like you is nothing short of spectacular. Thank you for your work. Thank you for your unending talent.

Exactly and they know what they’re doing to the people who’ve been stanch undying supporters of their agenda. I think that some – not all – are seeing the light so to speak.

Great that she’s going to be sworn in finally. But I don’t think any of us should be fooled and thinking that with her signature, everything will be revealed. The DOJ/FBI will do their best to subvert information. And I wouldn’t be surprised if GOP House members reversed their position.

True. But several of his programs as you stated – including Social Security – became fundamental parts of our society. In one sense you could say, he/dems threw everything against the wall to see what stuck. It was a about doing everything possible to get the country out of the hole it was in.

I don’t know if that’s why she stayed the SNAP order. On the one hand, I think it was indifference to the appeals court upcoming decision. On the other hand, it could’ve been a very stupid choice by the associate justice. Because SOCTUS has given the WH the right to withhold funds.

Interesting thought. Who says no to a wartime president and his party. As we learned under W. In 1936 the GOP said FDR like w/Biden, the public works projects would create a tragic recession & inflation. They were wrong. But FDR pulled back on policies & unemployment, recession surged til WWII

Thank you for the clarification. I feel a wee bit foolish with my original assessment…However… in the times we live in that’s where my head and mind go.

Exactly. Which is why FDR always define himself as a pragmatic progressive.

Republicans and residence in red state cry out how bad these programs are. It’s socialism it’s communism. But those senators congressman and residents of those states and cities are the first to have their hands out to grab all the money they can from these programs.

The Rockefellers, the Duponts - pro Nazism sold their rights their scientific work to create synthetic oil to the Nazis, Antisemitic Henry Ford, JP Morgan Jr, even Joe Kennedy the ambassador to Great Britain worked to convince FDR to be pro Fascist. The 5th column was alive then as it is today.

Which is why I just do not understand why the Democratic Party, with all of its decades ongoing ideological battles - have consciously ignored the one president that defines the Democratic Party, and inspired the social change that inspires democratic policy today.

Yes, the WH & secret service did work to camouflage, as best they could the extent of his disability from the public. Everyone knew and no one cared. When Elenor went to see what was happening in the country. He said: “She’s my legs.” His ability his strength WITH polio inspired a country.
November 8, 2025 at 7:20 AM
Yes. Absolutely. I said this before. FDR‘s pragmatic progressivism, as he called it, laid the groundwork for the most successful economic transformation in the world: American style Democratic socialism. Taxes. Disbursement of money from the haves to the have not to support citizens & the union.

When he ran for reelection in 1936, the GOP called him a Marxist a communist AND a socialist. In defiance of the moneyed people he grew up with, he said he welcomed their anger their hatred their disdain. And he did it W/humor. When asked I refer to myself as a 21st century FDR Democrat.
