I watch this every Christmas Eve, I love it so much- it always amazes me she was just allowed to whatever she wanted. (I mean I know she was huuuuuge at this point in the UK, but even so….)

It’s got something for everybody- rock, country, r&b, classical, jazz, calypso, weird stuff-you name it. It’s got religious stuff if you are into that and nonreligious if you are not. There are some rude (swearing and fart noises mostly) anti Christmas songs so don’t play unattended around grandma 😂

Eartha’s version is slow and sultry. She doesn’t really care about the sable or the yacht. Or maybe she does, idk. But the subtext of the song as she does it is that Santa is going to get a present from Eartha, iykwimaityd.

Every other version is just baaaaaad, especially the generic sounding country-adjacent ones. They’re usually too fast, and focus on the list of crap that Santa’s going to bring them.
