Public defender in the South, politics obsessive, nerd stuff enthusiast. Also a dad, although I'm trying to respect the privacy of my increasingly feral children.
One of these days I'm going to get around to matching this up to specific screen grabs from Moana

No, it's the most outlandishly corrupt prosecution in American history *so far*

Ok guys, let's figure this out. Who did the person who made this sign vote for in '24?

It only takes a casual familiarity with David French (even as generally a David French hater) to realize this headline is wildly misleading.

But I also think there's something to the uburmemsch tones

You should not be a member of a political party that has pro- and anti-Hitler factions

In place of a calcified regulatory environment you would have a queen! Not dark, but beautiful and terrible as the dawn

Dense walkable urbanism like this is illegal to build in most American cities, but now and then a YIMBY gets their hands on a ring of power.

Let's get specific about these numbers. Here's an item from my library that doesn't make me look like too much of a maniac: 85 hours of playtime in Manor Lords, a promising game that's still in early access.

The new crime bill does a lot of things but this is the part that worries me the most. If a defendant has three or more convictions (including class 1 misdemeanors) in the past ten years, a judge simply cannot give them an unsecured bond. They must pay money bail to get out.

I read a CNN article about the GOP crime bill named after the woman murdered on the bus in Charlotte. That was a mistake.

It's about a book that I enjoyed quite a bit! To be unfairly reductive, it asks what if necromancers were lesbians and also lived in space?

With all the caveats about how I am not on X nor do I listen to any of these people's podcasts, this kind of rhetoric appears to have become standard fare on the MAGA right. I have two reactions to that.

I took the liberty of looking up the paperwork for Decarlos Brown's robbery plea. There's just nothing here to support the idea that he got a sweetheart deal. Nobody used their discretion to let this guy out.
